Stacy Hansen, Executive Director
Stacy is very humbled to be asked to serve all of Iowa's IHSSA speech students, directors, and judges +1. Prior to her role as the Executive Director, Stacy was the Director of the West Des Moines Valley High School Speech and Drama Department beginning in 2001. She was the Speech/Drama Director at Clinton High School from 1993-2001. Under her leadership, Valley Speech received the E. Wayne Cooley Large Group Sweepstakes award 13 times, the most of any school in the history of the IHSSA in addition to 28 Critic's Choice Awards. She also served seven years on the IHSSA Executive Board as the Coach at Large. Stacy earned her Master of Arts in Theatre Directing from Roosevelt University, Chicago College of Performing Arts. She attended Iowa State University, earning her Bachelor's degree in Speech Communications/Theatre/English Education. She is the proud daughter of farming parents from Exira, IA.
At the IHSSA, she is responsible for the vision and direction of the IHSSA programs in Debate, Large Group, and Individual Events. She directs the Judge Certification programs, Coaches Convention, and the All-State Festivals.
Stacy and her husband Derek have two children: Lincoln and Scout.
