All IHSSA judges are required to undergo certification with the IHSSA. Novice judges are required to attend an in-person clinic for initial certification. Intermediate/Experienced judges have the option to attend in-person or online recertification. Certification is good for three years. Every three years, a judge must recertify. Certification consists of a 1 1/2 hour session, an online exam, as well as completion of a short essay. A yearly $5 fee is required for current judge membership as well as completion of the IHSSA Certification Form.
Judge Certification sites are held at 14 sites throughout Iowa. Certification sites are now complete for 2022.
